Prof. Soderstrom received her Ph.D. in Accounting and Information Systems from Northwestern University. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. Her primary research areas are sustainability and management accounting. Prof. Soderstrom has presented her research at over 60 universities worldwide and her work has appeared in major journals including Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Accounting Organizations and Society. She is a former Editor of Journal of Management Accounting Research (2016-2018), a current Editor at Journal of Accounting and Public Policy (2018-present). Prof. Soderstrom is Past President of the Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association
