Theme: Achieving Net Zero Economy: The Role of Finance, Accounting, Accountability and Governance

The role of corporations in achieving net zero economy as envisaged by the UN’s 2030 vision for sustainable development goals (SDGs) by working closely with governments, private and third sector organisations by engaging in responsible and sustainable business practices worldwide has become extremely important. In this changing circumstance, the role of the board of directors in strategic decision making relating to accounting, accountability, finance and governance issues is crucial. This is the first conference on this very important issue that aims to initiate the debate among academics and practitioners on the issue so that corporations can become more aware and passionate about the environment and society by encouraging and engaging in responsible and sustainable business practices. Possible topics incorporated the role of the boardroom in strategic decision making relating to accounting, accountability, finance and governance for adopting SDGs and targets via responsible business practices, including the following, but are not limited to:
